Google To Sell T-Mobile G1 Ringtones And Wallpapers On Android Marketplace?
![]()
This is what happens when you let developers monkey around inside your precious T-mobile G1 phone. They find all manner of things that might still have supposed to be kept secret…
Nosey Phandroid people unzipped the Market.APK file from inside the T-Mobile G1, and found little ringtone and wallpaper icons with attached Google Checkout logos!
Now, it doesn’t take Penny and Inspector Gadget to figure out that they will soon be charging for downloadable graphics and music for your G1!
With free alternatives like Ringdroid already floating around to create ringtones quickly and easily for zero pence…who’s going to pay for them?
Nevertheless these logos may just be relics, placeholders for an idea that never came to fruition, but it is interesting to see that even Google may not be the generous benefactors they seem to be…their freebie Android is going to start having to pay its way soon enough.
Between this and the new Google mobile search targeting, we think this shift will happen sooner rather than later…
