Cheap T-Mobile G1 Deals Coming In January!

Well, these new price cuts move the G1 up from ‘must have’ to ‘necessary for existence,’ as the January T-Mobile UK sale sees monthly charges slashed yet again!

A free T-Mobile G1 on a Combi 30 tariff will set you back a mere £31.50, down from £35. When you consider the same deal was 40 quid upon the release of the G1, so these drops signify a real deal on the Android pioneer!

Get involved.

Google Search Results Optimised For Android/T-Mobile G1

Android Search Changes on Mobiles

Google has launched visually optimised search results, designed to fit the screens and functionality of the T-Mobile G1 and Apple’s iPhone. Search results now load faster, and are adjusted to automatically fit on the display.

Of course, if you are hankering to kick it old school, you can always click the “Classic” link found at the bottom of any Google mobile page. On the G1 you can access the new results page after searching through either the search widget on the Android home page, or through Google.com in the browser itself. In addition, Google has added buttons and expandable maps for local business search results.

T-Mobile G1 To Get Tasty Android Updates In The Form Of Google’s ‘Cupcake’?

There is probably nowhere better to get some concrete Android info (apart from right here!) than the official Project site, and this time they have announced a host of upgrades they are making to their fluid operating system.

New features to be added include many refinements to the camera including stabilisation, video recording and playback, as well as bringing a sorely missed virtual keyboard to the touch screen. Finally!

More developments include MMS support as well as adding Bluetooth for stereo headphones! Who would have thought that so many things could be brought to Android/the T-Mobile G1 from simple firmware updates?

If only the iPhone could take a leaf out of the Cupcake development handbook, possibly the page headed ‘ADD SOME DAMN USEFUL FEATURES LIKE COPY & PASTE OR MMS OR DECENT BLUETOOTH SUPPORT’.

That would be a swell start.
