The success story of the G1 for T-Mobile is certain, and they are also eager to maintain their (now contested) Android dominance over the world.
Doing this will involve a lot more than continuing to shill the original G1, and a leaked document has revealed that the T-Mobile “Bigfoot” will be coming by the end of the year to fill that gap! However, the sliding QWERTY stylings of the Bigfoot referred on the roadmap has been named as the G1 v.2, which must indicate it being the same on the inside, but with a striking new look.
The Sapphire is also firmly wedged in there for the Summer, which cements rumours that the HTC device is definitely the MyTouch 3G, due for a June release on T-Mobile US whilst Vodafone already does the honours in the UK.
More Android, more problems. It will certainly be interesting once every manufacturer has their own device coming out this year. It might take a lot more than a cosmetic adjustment to gain traction for the G1: Mark II.
