Samsung i7500: Detailed Hands-On Video

The first Samsung Android handset gets seen up close, and is lovingly handled by Tech65.org. What it lacks in G1-style QWERTY love, it gains a 3.5 mm headphone jack, 8GB of hard storage capacity and some AMOLED goodness.

Lemme know what you think!

T-Mobile To Diversify Android Handset Portfolio Beyond HTC?

T-Mobile are big on the Android platform, but has the HTC Magic moving to Vodafone forced their hand in looking for other manufacturers to cosy up with? A T-Mobile spokesperson has come up with the following loaded statement:

“We are looking to launch multiple Android-based devices in the second half of this year with three partners…[and we will] see Android find its way down into feature phones on the low end.”

Open source means that the price of an operating system is no longer a barrier to entry, hence Android for everyone! But who are the three hookups? HTC and Samsung are obvious, but the third? Huawei? Motorola?

Gadget Stylist has a very interesting article on that very matter, with Motorola’s full-on adoption of the platform revealing their long term gameplan…or should we say life line?

T-Mobile G1 v2.0 Bigfoot Discovered, Captured On Film

g1_v2_bigfoot

The T-Mobile G1 revamp codenamed ‘Bigfoot’ has been seen in the wild, at least a high resolution render anyway.

This looks like a nice HTC Touch Pro-ish Android device, and a million miles away from the original device, as well as other ‘chinny’ HTC phones like the Magic and Hero.

The QWERTY is well hidden with a more traditional slider form factor, and the screen size seems healthy. Time to hang up your G1s, people?
