Flash 10.1 Arrives On Android

Adobe has launched a finished version of Flash 10.1 for Android, which should make proud iPhone owners a little less smug.

Android users running version 2.2 will be able to get Flash 10.1 from the Andorid Marketplace, while everyone else will have to wait a little longer as Adobe is expecting partners to deliver versions across other platforms.

In an official announcement, Adobe mentioned versions for Web OS, Symbian, Meego, Blackberry, LiMo and even WinMob, but Adobe itself has only released an Android version so far.

Flash 10.1 has a range of useful features for mobile users such as the ability to hibernate animations which aren’t in the area of the page being displayed and to pause when a call comes in.

Yeah yeah, we know the future is HTML 5, but before you all scuttle off to get those new iPhone 4 contracts, think of all the lush Flash content out there you could enjoy with an Android phone!
