Microsoft CEO Cusses Out G1, Android “Looks Like Version One”

A recent BBC interview with Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer showed us all exactly what he thought of Google’s first foray into the world of phone hardware and software…it wasn’t kind.

“You’ve got to remember Android is version one….and it looks like version one”.

Wow, he no like. He’s also got both barrels for Microsoft bedfellow HTC, with an uncharacteristically mean mention…

“They’ve got one handset maker, we’ve got 55. They’re available through one operator, we’ve got 175.”

Sounds like he’s working some classic Ballmer magic. Remember his reaction to the iPhone? The guy may be crazy, but he’s crazy like a fox.

Nokia 5800 Tube vs. Apple iPhone vs. T-Mobile Android G1: Round 2, Fight!

The battle for touchscreen supremacy rages on, and with the Nokia 5800 throwing it’s plectrum covered hat into the ring only yesterday, this fight just got sexy!

Techradar goes into insane detail, exploring in great depth each phone’s respective strengths. The lack of video playback on the G1 really stuck in their throat, but with a slick new operating system and whizzy internet, the phone is definitely defending it’s corner well…

The T-Mobile G1 seems a little underpowered when lined up with the iPhone 3G and 5800 Xpressmusic, but arguably they are targeting pretty different markets, but with the crazy free spirit of Android, we hope the developers will create a software based solution to keep it in the game.

T-Mobile g1 vs. the apple iPhone: round 1, fight!

PC World USA pits the hugely successful iPhone against the specifications of the T-Mobile G1 on paper…and it’s a close call!

They break the phones down on every feature, from screen size to software, megapixels to memory.

The winner? Well, it’s yet to be decided as the new challenger is hardly out yet…but the G1 sure looks ready to take down the champ. The biggest blow is definitely price. To go for the casual consumer, that phone is cheap as chips compared to Apple’s finest.

There is only one winner for those voting with their wallets.
