Samsung Android Phone Delayed

Samsung handset running Google Android? Not in the first half of 2009! The Korean mobile phone maker is reported to have hit some snags in development, and the announcement will no longer be made at next week’s MWC.

The mystery handset has now been earmarked for launch in the second half of the year.

With Samsung planning to focus more on the touchscreen area of the market in 2009, they are certainly hedging their bets on this sector between this and the forthcoming Samsung Tocco Ultra.

Low or high-end, people want iPhone-y phones, and Samsung are only too happy to accommodate. Just not yet.

Samsung Behold vs. Android: Is It A T-Mobile G1 Killer?

In the US, the Samsung Behold (known to the natives as the Samsung Tocco) has been released mere moments after the T-Mobile G1, and as another exclusive on the network aren’t the two handsets occupying a frighteningly similar market space?

Touchscreen candybar handset, unique interface, slightly simpler than most smartphones to enter the semi-casual market…which one am I talking about?

Well, luckily for you guys our sister mobile phone comparison site Omio (more a protective parent, really…) has a Samsung Tocco/Behold review up on their site, in a fetching pink ensemble no less…

Have a look at the widgets, get an idea of the shape and size, and realise that perhaps you wouldn’t miss the lack of a G1 keyboard…

Video review by yours coolly below!
