Get A SIM-Free Unlocked T-Mobile G1 Android Phone…For $399!
Google’s Android team have just released a unlocked version of the T-Mobile G1, mainly intended for easing the lives of their many app developers.
For the princely sum of $424 ($399 + a $25 registration fee), the Android Dev Phone 1 (catchy) is both SIM and hardware unlocked for developers to use any network as well as use your own versions of Android inside it. Obviously it is also good news for devs who couldn’t get on T-Mobile, or worse yet, get a G1 in their country at all!
The Android Dev Phone 1 (it’s growing on me…) will be available for purchase in 18 international markets, including the US, UK, Germany, Japan, India, Canada, France, Taiwan, Spain, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and Hungary.
One thing to say about Google, they are definitely bending over backwards to appease the community, pretty much the anti-Apple as far as developer love is concerned!
